World Scout Jamboree 2011

There are 10 Scouts from our troop members will attend the World Scout Jamboree in next year, which held in Rinkaby, Sweden. The date of jamboree will be from 27th of July 2011 until 8th of August 2011. Those who attend the jamboree please pass up your photocopy passport to the Troop Leader, Lim Jun Kwong as soon as possible. Thank you.

Duty

Activities Start

For your information, our troop activities will start at 27/3/2010. Please wear your troop t-shirt, belt, socks and shoes. For all the new member, please submit your Keahlian Log Book to us before Saturday. Lastly, all the best to those who are going to sit for the Pentarafan Pengakap Raja.

Perkhidmatan Camp 2010

There is a Perkhimatan Camp from 6 to 7 of February 2010 at Sabah Chinese High School(SCHS). The courses of the First Aid will be prepared by St. John Ambulance of SCHS. The participants consist of Senior 2 Scouts who have already got their four Lencana Tertinggi( Jayadiri, Kemahiran, Kegiatan and Ekspedisi). For those participants, please pay RM15 (camp fee) to (S1G) Lim Yung Hung and (S2B) Lam Jer Yong as soon as possible. Thank you.

Sport day is coming!!!

Sport day is coming soon. So, there are some activities and duties that the school needs us to do:

1. Marching (all)

2. Sport flag and the flag raising ceremony (senior scout onlyXD)

3. Set up the 'Hospital' (all)

4. Duty sport events (all)

The time for our marching practice are Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday, from 3.30pm until 5.30 pm. 2 February 2010 will set up the 'Hospital'. The jumping event will in charge by the senior scout because they have to collect their duty hours.

Hope all the scout members will attend these activities and events.

A lots of activities are waiting for you such as expedition, map reading, camping, learning outdoor skills, knotting, first aids, service and others. The most interesting activity is the 2011 World Scout Jamboree which held in Sweden. Through this activity, you can have a chance to interact with scouts from other countries. Pengembaraan Jaya - 40km

Pada 8 Disember 2009, sekumpulan pengakap dari Kumpulan Pengakap 18 Tawau yang terdiri daripada 7 orang pengakap telah menyertai pengembaraan jaya sepanjang 40km dengan berbasikal. Tujuan pengembara ini adalah untuk memenuhi program latihan lencana Jaya. Peserta ini berbasikal sepanjang 23km lalu berkhemah di sebuah kebun rakan mereka dan meneruskan pengembaraan mereka pada esok pagi. Dalam pengembaraan ini, terdapat seorang penolong pemimpin, dua orang penguji dan enam orang servis co mengikut pengembara ini.

Peserta-peserta ini dibahagikan kepada dua patrol, iaitu Patrol Jasai dan Patrol Itik. Setelah mereka bersedia, Patrol Jasai bertolak dahulu pada 7.35 pagi, diikuti iaitu Patrol Itik bertolak pada 7.55 pagi. Mereka diwajibkan untuk menjalankan tugas yang diberikan dalam pengembara mereka. Dalam perjalanan, salah satu peserta dari Patrol Jasai telah cedera sebab jatuh dari basikalnya akaibat breknya tidak berfungsi. Peserta ini tidak berputus asa terus menerusi pengembaranya. Pada 12.30 tengah hari, Patrol Jasai telah tiba di tapak perkhemahan. Patrol Itik juga tiba di tapak prkhemahan pada 12.45 tengah hari dengan selamat. Selepas rehat sebentar, mereka bermula menyediakan makanan tengah hari.

Pada 2 petang, peserta dan pengakap remaja diberikan tugas untuk mendirikan sebuah pondok sementara(bivouac). Setelah itu, peserta bertukar baju untuk bermandi di sungai yang berhampiran. Pada 5.15petang, mereka bersama pengakap remaja mengutip kayu api untuk memasak masakan rimba. Pada masa yang sama, Skipper Vincent telah datang. Beliau bersama kita memasak masakan rimba. Selepas itu, beliau pulang ke rumahnya. Peserta yang cedera itu dipaksa untuk balik ke rumah akibat keadaannya sangat teruk. Yang lain itu, mereka mula merancang dan mempersembahkan tarian untuk malam kebudayaan sehingga 9.30 malam. Selepas itu, mereka semua tidur.

Pada hari kedua, mereka bersarapan dan membersihkan tapak perkhemahan lalu memeriksa basikal mereka. Pada 8.30pagi, Patrol Jasai meneruskan pengembaraan mereka dan diikuti Patrol Itik bertolak pada 8.52 pagi dengan semangat yang tinggi. Mereka juga diwajibkan menjalankan tugas yang diberikan. Pada 11.45 pagi, Patrol Jasai telah menamatkan pengembaraan mereka. Mereka sambil berehat sambil menunggu ketibaan patrol lain. Pada 12.15 tengah hari, Patrol Itik telah tiba. Sebelum bersurai, Skipper Vincent mengucapkan tahniah kepada peserta-peserta. Kami semua juga mengambil gambar bersama-sama.

1. Our committee training camp started from 5/12/2009 until 12/12/2009. Hope all of you will appreciate what you learned from here and try your best to use it in the future.

2. Congratulation to all the participants who took part in the Jaya Hiking. You guys did well in your exam. Keep it up, and try your best to achieve a higher ranking.

3. 18/12/2009 - 20/12/2009, there is a camping.
